Goodwood Revival to Feature Legendary Maserati

The Goodwood Revival is an automotive event that takes attendees back in time. Held across the pond in the United Kingdom the two day event features classic and historical motor racing vehicles from the Golden Era of Automotive Racing. All participants and attendees are required to get into the spirit of the event by wearing pre 1966 era clothing and gear. Becoming fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the event is a big part of the allure of this even but the real treat is seeing all the legendary racing cars take to the racetrack. This September, the Goodwood Revival will again take place and feature a truly legendary Formula 1 racing car, the Maserati 250F.

Around 16 of these historic Maserati 250F vehicles will race for the Richmond Trophy, an award given to victorious racecars built between 1954-1960. Among this roster is one of only two V12 versions of the 250F ever built.  Those attending the Goodwood Revival will be able to see all 16 of these cars which will be featured in the main paddock at the Goodwood event site.  It is expected to be one of the major draws for this year’s event which is definitely a testament to the Maserati racing legacy.

The Maserati 250F earned its legendary status the very year it debuted in 1954, earning five-time Formula 1 champion, Juan Manuel Fangio (a driver of equally historic status) a victory in the Argentinian Grand Prix.  After it’s early success the Maserati 250F was raced my a number of well-known racing champions including Tony Brooks, Sir Stirling Moss, Mike Hawthorn, Jean Behra, and Roy Salvadori. It has more than earned its central place in this year’s Goodwood Revival. For many it will be the first opportunity to see one of these incredible vehicles in action and for a Maserati enthusiast it will be the highlight of the event for sure.
